Who are the organisers of Brisbane Thai Festival?

The Thai-Australian Association of Queensland Inc. are the proud organisers of the Brisbane Thai Festival.

Where will the Brisbane Thai Festival take place?

The Brisbane Thai Festival will take place on the Celebration Precinct at Roma Street Parkland on Sunday 15th September 2019.

Is the event free entry?

With thanks to our sponsors and major partners, the Brisbane Thai Festival remains free entry.

Is it an all-aged event?

Yes, the Brisbane Thai Festival is open to all ages. Age restrictions only apply to the Thai Beer Garden which is 18+.

From what time will the Brisbane Thai Festival run?

From 10:00 am – 07:00 pm.

Will there be an ATM on site?


How many food stalls will there be?

There will be up to 8 Thai food stalls and 1 Food Truck serving the most authentic and traditional Thai meals. Some dishes and even desserts will be made especially just for the Brisbane Thai Festival.

How many Market & Information stalls?

Our Market & Information 11 stalls, including TAAQ information Centre & Raffle.

Are there vegetarian, vegan, gluten free Thai food options available?

Yes, many Thais are infact many of the above. Most meals can be catered for specifically as per the above if a kind request is made.

If you are unsure, please check first with the stall holder before making your order as some same meals may contain different ingredients depending on the chef/stall.

What kind of performances will there be?

We have a very exciting showcase for all in attendance this year from a traditional and extravagant Thai performance by our friends from Siam Classic Dance along with traditional Thai martial arts to a live band.

What transport can I take to Roma Street Parkland?

There are a range of facilities within the parkland making it accessible for people of all abilities. For specific requirements, please call 1300 137 468 for further information.

Car Parking – Parking is available at a number of locations throughout and adjacent to the parkland. There are nearly 200 car parking spaces (including 11 disabled car parking bays) within Roma Street Parkland. Car parking spaces are located at College Close Car Park and along Parkland Boulevard. Undercover car parking is also available within the residential apartments complex. Parking fees vary during the week and weekend.

Coach Parking and drop-off – Celebration Vista, is our welcome point for coaches and groups. Located on Parkland Boulevard it provides coaches with both a set down and parking location for groups visiting the parkland. Providing a magnificent view over Celebration Lawn, Celebration Vista provides an undercover picnic area and small kitchenette with hot water facilities – a perfect location for morning or afternoon tea. Public Transport

There are a number of public transport options for your visit to Roma Street Parkland, including train and bus, with the Roma Street Train Station and Transit Centre located directly beside the Parkland. Access is via Platform 10. For further information about bus or train timetables, please phone TransLink on 13 12 30 or visit the website at www.translink.com.au.

By taxi – Taxis can access the parkland from Wickham Tce or Roma St where they can drop off or pick up on Parkland Boulevard.

Cycling – There are a number of cycle paths that lead to Roma Street Parkland, including the Normanby Cycleway Link. All pathways and roads throughout the Parkland are shared paths. Bicycles are not permitted in the Spectacle Garden in Colin Campbell Place.

Bicycle Racks – Roma Street Parkland bicycle racks are located on Parkland Boulevard at the end of Allee Bridge, in The Hub and next to Melange Café near the Carriage Deck.


Bathrooms – Toilets and baby change facilities are located at key points throughout the parkland including the Carriage Shed, Frangipani Court barbecue area, the Amphitheatre and near the Harry Oakman Pavilion in the Upper Parkland.

Lost Property – If you have lost or found an item within the parkland, all lost property is returned to the security office located adjacent to Celebration Lawn. Alternatively you can email rsp@cityparklands.com.au or call 1300 137 468.

Are there any parking deals available on the festival day?

I will be travelling by train from the Gold Coast, which station do I get off at?

Roma Street Parkland station.

Can we bring our dogs?

Yes, as long as they are kept on a leash at all times.

Where can I buy a raffle ticket?

The raffle ticket can be purchased at the information booth on the day. Prizes will be drawn on stage around 3.35pm at the event.

Will there be something for the kids?

Yes, absolutely. The day will be full of entertainment and food from our traditional Thai performances direct from Thailand, all the way to our food stalls who will be serving the most authentic Thai food. But there’s more, including a live band, kids art and craft as well as face painting

Will there be tables and chairs?

Yes. As a major part of our festival is the food, there will be tables and chairs with umbrella shade for all to enjoy a meal, a drink or two–with their family and friends.

Can I bring my own picnic mats and chairs?

Yes, you are most welcome to but we do not take any responsibility for any theft, losses or damages.

Can I BYO?

This is not recommend. There will be an (18+) Beer Garden open all day for those who visit to consume in a licensed area.

Is the Beer garden 18+?

Yes. ID checks required.

Is there disability access?

Yes, the Roma Street Parkland has disability access for all. Pathways and toilets are wheelchair-friendly in the lower parkland and disabled parking is available.

Where can I find the program for the day?

Please come and visit us at our information booth. The program will contain information regarding all Thai food stalls, stage schedule and a festival map.
